Sunday Spotlight: KrustPunkJesus | Ghettoartiz | Moe Huncho
I have such an insane amount of music that people have submitted me, that I still have stuff to listen to from months ago. Slowly but surely, I’m working through every single song, and finding ways to help share and support the music that I enjoy. My thought was that if I created a segment for a specific day of the week, I would pressure myself into actually getting it done. Thus, Sunday Spotlight was born.
All 3 of these guys that I’m sharing today submitted their music to be played on the Hip Hop In My Headphones Podcast, so they’ve been previously vetted. I enjoyed them though, so I figured I would give them a dedicated post, and also provide you with some more artist info for each of them.
So let’s get into it!
I’m not gonna try to pretend to understand what’s going on with this young man, but whatever he’s got going on inside his head, it makes for some good music. Check out “Shadow In The Background”, and if you’re like me, you’ll be whisper-screaming “keep your head down!” to yourself all day.
Alright, yeah, that’s probably just me.
Good news is, if you like “Shadow In The Background”, there’s a ton of songs for you to check out on Soundcloud. KrustPunkJesus has released both Bedroom Sessions Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 in the past couple months.
Oh and try to not let the scrawny, pasty skin boy in the picture deter you from listening. I know it’s hard, but give him a shot!
Ghettoartiz is truly a man of many talents. He fully encompasses the hip hop culture with a background in graffiti, as well as decades of experience making music. He makes beats, raps, mixes & masters, does graphic art, and I’m sure a long list of other talents.
I played “Don’t Give a Fuck” on episode 15 of the podcast, and I was instantly impressed. I love it! Just plain old hip hop. Dope beat, real life rhymes. Ghettoartiz is from the Bronx, New York, so it makes sense that he has a fairly classic sound and style.
If you’re interested in learning more about Ghettoartiz, I recommend checking out his Soundcloud page down below. He has written a fairly in-depth overview of his music career, that you can read in his bio section.
Moe Huncho is most definitely not the kind of artist that I usually listen to, but it doesn’t matter because he’s dope! If entertainment is the name of the game, then Moe Huncho got it on lock. In addition to “Huncho freestyle” above, I’ve listened to a few other songs, and I was cracking up at all of them.
You can’t listen to Moe expecting to hear some profound insight, or to be wowed by his wordplay. He’s pretty straight forward in his delivery, and he says funny, yet grossly offensive things in his songs. I find it hilarious. I also like the editing style how he punches every single line, because that shows that he really doesn’t give a fuck.
Also, I can’t find this dude anywhere online besides Soundcloud. So here ya go.
