Janette King – Love Another (Music Video)
I love this song! You already know that hip hop is my bread and butter, but every now and then I gotta mix it up with some R&B or Soul. “Love Another” is a highly relatable love song, where Janette King pleads to not be led on by her significant other. The chorus is straight facts, and I know that’s a feeling that most of us have had at one point or another. Maybe we even made somebody else feel this way, but hopefully not!
If you want to go and love another
I’ll be fine, just don’t drag me along
Go ahead cause it feels like I’m losing you
Be honest, don’t lead me on
There’s something mesmerizing about the way the “Love Another” music video is shot too. I think it’s the way the camera rotates at certain points, and then also the slow motion movements that Janette does.
I think that the first time I listened to this song, it was the beat that instantly got my attention. It totally reminds me of 90’s Hip Hop/R&B, and in a way, it sort of embodies that same feeling. What I used to really love about that era of R&B was how a song could be so emotional, yet still feel upbeat and have a good bounce to it. That’s how I feel about what Janette King has done here.
Or maybe I just think too much
When I’m missing the feeling of your touch
You used to give me so much love
Lately you don’t look at me the same
Can’t remember the last time you said
‘I love you’ (you)
Got me layin in my bed at night
Wondering if you got someone else
On your mind
This is my favorite part of the whole song. So real.
